Dryads

 

Dryads celebrates the link between the human body and nature.

The series has been a fusion of working in the studio and on location around Sydney. Dryads are tree fairies of Greek Mythology.  The images have been inspired by the aesthetics of nineteenth century tableaux which used illusion to explore the sensuality of nature.  Hand colouring, black and white film processing, studio portraiture and landscape photography alongside modern digital techniques and materials have been employed to create the experience and beauty of wildness within myself.
