Underwater figures

 

Since 1994, I have been experimenting with underwater photography. It wasn’t till 1999 that I began to professionally exhibit and sell these images.  

I work mostly in still ocean water although I mention still water, rarely in the ocean is it still, there is always some movement from tidal currents and fish. 

 

Working with cloth and the body represents my palette and the ocean is my canvas.  Salt-water crystals and film grain both share a similar shape and the impression when you view my compositions for the first time is that they do look like paintings.   I love the ocean and swimming and these two passions drive my photography.
